Operation Florian is the charity set up by British firefighters to save lives overseas by donating reconditioned fire engines and emergency equipment to the world’s poorest regions.

Alpha Training are delighted to have been able to assist with this worthwhile organisation – by donating used sets of Breathing Apparatus equipment – which we were reliable informed are winging their way to Africa to help out the local fire and rescue services.

A grateful West Sussex Fire and Rescue collected the sets from our logistics team – ready for their dispatch abroad.

In the UK we are lucky that we have the best fire services in the world, with some of the bravest and well-trained firefighters using the latest equipment to keep us safe at night.

However, some other countries are not so fortunate, fire and road traffic collisions still remain one of the biggest killers of life in some of the world’s poorest regions, where they have no access to even basic fire and rescue equipment. Operation Florian exists to save lives in these places.

Operation Florian also send out volunteer training crews to ensure that the people who will be using the equipment are fully trained and ready to do their job – save lives.
