|We are delighted to announce Mind Coastal West Sussex as our new charity of the year, following a recent staff vote. |
Mind are an independent local mental health charity operating in West Sussex – their work is driven by the needs and experiences of people with a mental health problem. They provide information and support to anyone experiencing mental health issues and campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding. As an independent charity, they receive no funding from the national Mind charity.
Over the previous year, the Alpha group of companies have supported Sussex Search and Rescue, through fundraising activities such as bingo, a company BBQ, raffle and by providing spaces on training courses such as FREC3 and Mental Health Awareness.
Here’s what Treasurer Jackie Deacon of Sussex Search and Rescue said:
Dear Emily and team,
I am writing on behalf of all the volunteers at Sussex Search and Rescue to extend our sincerest appreciation for choosing us to be your charity of the year for 2018/2019.
Your support with funding, training, publicity and support has made a great difference to the team in varying ways.
Over the past year you have:
Held an information presentation on who we are and what we do
Held a coffee and mince pie fundraising event
Trained 2 team members on FREC courses
Trained 6 team members in mental health first Aid
Raised a total of £247.10
All our team members are volunteers and each one contributes much time and dedication in helping vulnerable missing people within the Susse community.
Without any guaranteed income we are entirely self-funding and therefore your contributions are very much appreciated as it is very important to us in ensuring we maintain the service we provide at the highest possible standards.
Once again, on behalf of the whole team, our sincerest thanks.
We also recently donated 2 large boxes of arts and crafts for the children at Chestnut Tree House.
As our new financial year kicks off, the teams at Alpha, Rescue2 and FaceFit Testing are excited to support another brilliant local charity.
