
Fire Awareness Training

The purpose of the course is to give delegates a good understanding of fire safety in the workplace and at home. The course is aimed at providing delegates with the necessary skills and competence to know how to adopt a good fire safety strategy at work and home including what to do in the event of either discovering a fire, or hearing the fire alarm sound.
The course also gives the delegates the skills required to use either a fire blanket or relevant fire extinguishers to extinguish a small fire.
Course content includes:
- Fire Safety Legislation
- The cost of fire in the workplace
- Main Causes of fire
- Chemistry of Combustion – How fires Start & Spread
- Basic fire risk assessment
- Fire Precautions in the workplace - Examples of poor practice
- Human Behaviour – actions in the event of fire
- Classes of Fire & Fire fighting Media office fire
- Practical use of fire extinguishers and fire blankets on live fire simulator
- Company specific fire safety policy and documentation
This course includes the use of our "enviro friendly" propane gas live fire training simulator and use of fire blanket and various extinguishers (suitable risk assessment and area required).
