After successful completion of this course the delegates will have a much greater understanding of the safety considerations required when using medical gases. The delegates will also be in a much stronger position to promote better casualty care using oxygen and/or entonox as required when dealing with first aid incidents. This simple skill will instill confidence in both the first aider and the casualty increasing the likelihood of a more positive outcome. It is strongly advised that delegates refresh these skills on an annual basis. 

Course content includes:

  • Basic life support skills using oxygen and BVM
  • Oxygen therapy
  • Indications and contra-indications of oxygen use with casualties
  • Safety considerations when using oxygen
  • Introduction to entonox as a medical gas
  • Indications and contra-indications of entonox use with casualties
  • Safety considerations when using entonox
