This course is designed to train delegates in the correct inspection regime and methods of inspecting safety harnesses and associated equipment across differing environments for working at height, as in a company appointed person. The Course is specifically designed for any person who is involved with working with harnesses in the workplace.

Course content includes:

  • Health & Safety at Work Legislation and Regulations
  • Identifying types of fall arrest / restraint equipment
  • Selecting fall arrest / restraint equipment
  • Trace-ability
  • CE Markings
  • Correct fitting of harnesses
  • Shock absorbing lanyards and fall arrest blocks
  • Anchor points and connectors
  • Care and maintenance of equipment
  • Inspection of harnesses and recording requirements
  • Manufacturers instruction manual (MIM) and associated paperwork
  • Assessment paper
