As part of the MSF Southern Water contract, BTU were to carry out tasks which involved entry into a gaseous wet well on a specific site.

Alpha were contracted to not only manage the BA entry into the well, but to provide a vitally important rescue team should an occurrence occur to insure the safety of all personnel involved in the operation.

The service that Alpha provided was exceptional, demonstrating actively a full coverage in every area of competence.

Their safety set up for a rescue bore no hindrance to the operation and our personnel were able to carry out their tasks working hand in hand with the Alpha team.

I would highly recommend the use of such a highly competent and approachable company and without doubt would seek to contract their services should any situation arise to warrant their presence on site.

I would wish to thank all the staff at Alpha not only ensuring that we all returned home of a night, but also for their pleasant approach to what was a difficult operation over those weeks.

I would like to give some feedback upon the Emergency First Aid at Work Training course that I attended yesterday (7th December 2010).

I attended yesterday because I felt that it was the responsible thing for me to do in safeguarding myself and colleagues, but my previous experience of emergency first aid training with National Grid in November 2005 left me feeling that this would be a frustrating course with only the occasional nugget of updated safety advice being offered to make the day worthwhile. However, it was immediately apparent that there was a gulf between the standard of training on this occasion compared to the 2005 course.

The trainer, Mark Coates, made the course relevant and engaging by the use of his warm and friendly personality and his personal practical examples and experience to explain the ‘why’ in addition to the ‘what’ and make it clear what the words in the manual actually meant rather than just what the manual said.

Mark’s enthusiasm for the subject was infectious and he made a very good trainer, I would have no hesitation in recommending that we use Mark again to deliver this course. Thanks for an enjoyable and useful day.

When a need arose for Confined Space training on our project, we had to look around at short notice for a company with the standard of training we felt matched our needs. This was made harder because of the lack of accreditation available for Confined Space Training providers. We settled on ATSS because of the professional approach showed from the beginning and the fact they could deliver at short notice. This was followed through in the delivery by Shaun Jackaman, as his enthusiasm, energy and stories of his personal experiences kept the class interested for the full two days

The course was very informative, including and professional. The trainer’s manner was appropriate to the audience. He was relaxed, but also able to stress the important points when necessary. Andrew appeared to gain a good rapport with all of us (even though there were only 3 on the course) and gained our trust and interest at an early stage. The practical exercises completed (putting out the fires) were invaluable, and something that more people should make the time to find out about. It could just save a life.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Shaun Jackaman for his lively and informative presentation in respect of the Basic Confined Space Awareness Course run at our site at Glaxo Smith Kline recently. Safety presentations can have the reputation of being a bit ‘dry’ and therefore it was reassuring when he kept all the delegates involved and motivated whilst ensuring the importance of the subject was maintained.
 
I would also like to thank Alpha Training for their swift response when we require general safety equipment that is always of the highest quality. 

We have always found Alpha Training helpful and willing to bespoke our training needs into a format that suits our company, whilst still meeting statutory regulations.
We had eight delegates attend our last training day, which incorporated first aid and manual handling. Alpha Training were very happy to visit us onsite, and fit into the available space to complete the training.

The trainer very quickly assessed our needs as a small diverse team of irrigation and fencing fitters, and was able to channel the Manual Handling in particular, to job specific situations to make it relevant to the staff attending. The training was interesting, creating a relaxed atmosphere for the learning to take place.
All staff have reported back positively on their training day, and we will be using Alpha Training again in the future.
